Description

I am Putting my 87 Formula up for sale. It had been sitting in storage for basically 8 years due to some legal trouble from the previous owner. His Brother kept it and drove it enough to keep the liquids flowing. When I purchased it the car had 92,500 miles on it and I put 2k on it driving it home from Seattle. Made the trip without a hitch. It had a new paint job of decent quality but no stickers and no rust or rot. It was in pretty good shape (all original and unmolested) but needed a few items updated to make it a dependable driver again. I have been working on this the past few months to what you see now. It starts and runs flawlessly with no drips on the floor and everything works correctly from the headlights to the cruise control. I will list what I have done to it since bringing it home.Replaced Items1. Alternator (old one still worked but replaced it anyway)2. AC Compressor (the bearing went out in the original so I replaced it and converted it to R-134, It blows ice cold and works perfectly)3. Shocks (it had the original ones still on it so I put KYB GR2′s on it)4. Battery (self explanatory it was old and needed replaced)5. Exhaust (installed a new catalytic converter and Flow master series 80 exhaust.)6. Wheels (the originals were tired looking so I bought another set and cleaned them up including new center and lug nut caps.)7. Center console (the original was cracked so i replaced it as well as installing new power window switches.)8. Factory Stickers (It had no Stickers on it so i bought the original set from Classic industries and put them on.)9. Headlight motor ( the driver’s side headlight motor was tired so I replaced it and put new headlights in both sides.)10. installed new Hood and rear hatch shocks.11. Stereo (replaced the old stereo with a new Kenwood KRC-345 which includes an iPod connection and keeps your iPod charged while it plays) it also has a sub in the trunk.

12. New starter & solenoid (Solenoid went out so I replaced both.)

13. Radiator Professionally Flushed and cleaned including a thermostat and upper radiator hose.

14. Transmission Fluid & Filter replaced.

15. I had the engine professionally Carbon cleaned when I had the radiator DoneOptionsIt has a 5.0 engineIt has Power windows, T-Tops, Keyless Entry, Power Locks, Cloth Interior, 2 additional 12v Outlets, Power hatch, Cruise, Tilt Wheel. It is wired for a Garmin so you can find your way home.This is a 23 year old car but it’s not showing it. It sits and drives correct, all gauges work, the rear hatch motor works, all interior lights work, you can plug an obdm meter into it and it will still give the computer codes ( it currently has none to read) It has a little road wear and a small dent in the drivers fender on top. (that was my fault my ratchet separated while installing the new battery.) The Dr Dent guy tells me it will come out no problem. It is in the pictures you can see it but it’s very small.I would not hesitate to drive this anywhere in the country. If you want to ship it home we’ll have to figure that out but it will be at your expense.I have lowered the price due to reflect what these appear to be going for. Whomever buys it will be getting a very nice car. Good Luck.

Very good working condition 2 door powered convertible 1967 Pontiac Catalina… Been garaged for past 10+ years – driven sparingly – on special occasions and some weekends – though we did take a few long distance trips a few years ago with no issues at all. MOTOR AND CAR RUNS VERY GOOD. There are a few minor leaks – from power steering and/or maybe the transmission seal. (Hard to tell as I am not a mechanic!) My dad and I owned the vehicle but he passed away almost 3 years ago now. He knew more about the car than I do. I am just not using it much and our family can use the money right now.

We had an “OK” paint job done about 7 years ago – they did everything including door wells and trunk, but it’s “aged” a bit since on outside… it also appears that the paint’s clear coat seems to not have been done right… I buffed with scratch compound and waxed as best I could. It still looks quite clean, presentable.

It does have some imperfections, wear. A bit of rusting started in some areas. Most of it is original parts. (i.e. convertible, dash, carpets, seats, etc.) I can send more pictures if you are interested… I was limited to 24 on this listing.

Bottom line: It would make a great base car for restoration… and it is still road worthy in the meantime!! Even great to haul “Santa” around if you wanted too!!

It is manual windows, locks, bench. It’s the V8 428 cu in – Dual Exhaust – Turbo Hydra-Matic. Gas entry is behind license plate. Most of the wear and tear parts have been done within past 12,000 – 15,000 miles – tires, breaks, battery, alternator, some hoses, exhaust, tuneup. Motor was reconditioned about 16,000 miles ago… Has minor blemishes on body, convertible top, some rubbers/seals dried/cracked and a stretch rip has started on the dash, clock is not working, we replaced radio…
